Mel Glynn, Jr. has been a photographer since the age of 14, when his dad bought him his first professional camera.  One week later he happened upon an auto accident, where he took pictures.  He sold the images to the Seattle Post Intelligence newspaper for the whopping sum of $100.00.

This inspired Mel to pursue a career in photography.  His dad, who was an artist, taught him how to get the most out of his camera and he went on to become his high school photographer.

At age 17 Mel joined the Navy and was sent to the Navy School of Photography in Pensacola, Florida.  He used his training throughout his military career, which spanned over 20 years of both Navy and Army service. 

Upon retirement he opened his own studio and photo lab in California, where he concentrated primarily on weddings and portraits.  The studio operated successfully for 30 years.  He now lives in Largo, Florida with his wife, Shirley, and together they started SherMel, Ltd.  The images in the catalog comprise of photography that spans over 40 years.  He now photographs what he loves best - nature, wildlife, scenics and flowers.  If you ask him what he photographs, he'll tell you "anything legal".
